Aspiring Assembly member appeals for rehabilitation of road

Tanokrom (B/A), Aug. 14, GNA – An aspiring assembly member for Tanoboase electoral area in the Techiman Municipality has appealed to the Department of Feeder Roads to re-gravel the five- kilometre feeder road from Tanoboase to Tanokrom which had become deplorable. Mr. Kofi Nimoh, an accountant of the Techiman Urban Council, who is seeking election and an assemblyman for the electoral area made the appeal when the people of the area complained to him on the spate of the road during his house-to-house campaign at TanoKrom.

Mr. Nimoh told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the deplorable nature of the road had cut many peasant farmers away from bringing their agriculture produce to the marketing centres.

He called on the feeder roads department to act swiftly to assist the farmers who have had their food crops such as yams, cassava, tomatoes, garden eggs and maize locked up due to the bad nature of the road.

He said the perennial rainfall had prevented drivers from plying the road and subsequently made some of the food crops go bad. Mr, Nimoh again requested the Techiman office of the water and sanitation to effect the repairs of number of bore holes sunk at Tanoboase, which most often faces serious water problem and needed resuscitation.

In his house-to-house campaign, Mr. Nimoh called on the electorate to give him their mandate in the upcoming assembly and unit committee level elections, adding that is main concern would be the transformation of the area through infrastructure development.
