Aspirants to refrain from using “Akpeteshie”

Navrongo (U/E), Dec. 3, GNA – Mr Amos Ayuure, the Executive Director of the Navrongo Youth Agenda for Development, has appealed to District Assembly aspirants to refrain from the use of locally brewed gin “Akpeteshie” and other alcoholic beverages when campaigning. He told the GNA in an interview that drunkenness was becoming a problem in the region and any aspirant who wanted to use alcohol, especially “Akpeteshie”, as refreshment for their supporters would be creating more problems for the youth.

Mr Ayuure said the people of the region should be aware of the problems of the region and vote for people who had the development of the region at heart. He said aspirants should to be more responsible in their pursuit of development and must seek to promote peace and unity in their communities. Mr Ayuure appealed to the electorate to reject those who could come to them with “Akpeteshie” to canvass for votes.
