Aspirant calls for repair of bridges at Agona Swedru

Agona Swedru, July 23, GNA – A New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer aspirant, Mr Isaac Osei, has appealed to the government to repair the two bridges at Agona Swedru to restore social life and commercial activities in the town.

“It is the responsibility of the government to make it a priority to fix the broken bridges to enable the people to assume their businesses to better their lot,” he said.

Mr Osei said this known when he addressed polling station executives, coordinators and Council of Elders of the party at Separate meetings at Agona Swedru and Agona Nsaba as part of his campaign tour of the Central Region.

He said the situation where travellers, traders and business men and women had to park their cars to carry their language and other goods to walk across the swinging Bailey bridge before joining other vehicles to their destinations was not the best.

Mr Osei told the delegates that he would focus on rural, youth development, women empowerment and modern agriculture to revamp the economy when he is elected the flag bearer and subsequently become President after the 2012 election.

He called for unity among members of the party since it was the only way that could make the party to come back to power.
