Asokwa to get a new market

Kumasi, March 20, GNA – A sod-cutting ceremony for work to start on an ultra modern market for residents of Old Asokwa was on Thursday held in Kumasi.

The new market is being built through contributions from the residents and will have about 200 stores and sheds.

Nana Fe-Baamoah II, Chief of Asokwa who initiated the project, appealed to Ghanaians to cultivate the habit of initiating development projects instead of always looking up to government. He said the key to any nation’s development was what the citizenry could do for the nation and not what government could do and that the private sector should be alive to its responsibilities to ensure the growth of the nation.

Nana Fe-Baamoah urged the residents to contribute in kind and in cash for the successful completion of the project.
