Asiedu Nketia the ‘chief idiot’ waving handkerchiefs in court – NPP

A member of the Legal Team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed incredulity that Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Principal Witness for both the First and Third Respondents; President John Mahama and the NDC, respectively, in the Election Petition suit, enthusiastically waved a handkerchief in obvious ecstasy after his first evidence-in-chief appearance in the Witness box last Thursday.

Yaw Buaben-Asamoah wondered why someone who indirectly accused the opposition NPP of being “idiots” when the party filed a petition challenging the results of the 2012 General Elections, could be so happy after having his day in court.

“It’s surprising that Asiedu Nketia who claimed any idiot can go to court is now the chief idiot waving a handkerchief in court and singing halleluiah just after his first evidence-in-chief session with his own counsel, Tsatsu Tsikata. We now know the true idiots in court,” he said.

The NDC chief scribe was reported to have admonished the NPP not to delude themselves into thinking that because they have filed a petition at the Supreme Court against the EC and the NDC, then it means they will automatically be pronounced winners.

He pointed that the fact that NPP is in court challenging the 2012 election is inconsequential because “any idiot can go to court in a democracy, but the onus lies with the judge to determine whether the case has merit”.

Speaking on Asempa FM, Lawyer Buabeng Asamoah sought to find out if the NDC General Secretary should be classified as an ‘idiot’ for filing a response to the NPP’s petition and taking the witness stand.
