Asiedu Nketia sworn in as Board Chair of GPHA

Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has been sworn in as the new Board Chairman of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).

The ceremony, held on June 25, 2025, also saw the induction of Professor Ransford Gyampo, acting CEO of the Ghana Shippers Authority, as a member of the newly reconstituted GPHA Board.

The new board is tasked with setting the policy direction for the Authority, improving operational efficiency, and supporting key infrastructure expansion projects across the country’s major ports.

The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority plays a central role in facilitating international trade, and the new leadership is expected to drive reforms aimed at boosting competitiveness, enhancing revenue mobilisation, and positioning Ghana as a leading maritime hub in West Africa.
