The NDC Member of Parliament for Juaboso Constituency, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has stated that had it not been for the fact that the political colours of NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, is an open-secret, he should have been considered as the next Electoral Commissioner after Dr. Kwadwo Afari Gyan retires.
The NDC MP is of the opinion that Asiedu Nketia’s vast knowledge of the country’s electoral system, qualifies him to head the EC, but for the fact that the law will not permit it.
“…he (Asiedu Nketia) demonstrated that, he is enlightened when it comes to the country’s electoral processes…he has made the NDC proud for the wisdom he displayed in court… he responded to the questions excellently and also explained the issues which the petitioners tried to hide in their claim…,” he said.
