Ashesi University Students Selected for Goldman Sachs Internships

Accra, Feb. 18, GNA – Three students of Ashesi University College in Accra have been selected to participate in the 2011 Goldman Sachs Spring Internship Programme in London.

The students were selected from hundreds of applicants who applied fro= m universities across the nation, according to a statement from the Universit= y in Accra on Friday. Goldman Sachs is one of the world’s largest investment banking, securities and investment management firms.

The statement named the students as Ms Phoebe Acolatse, Ms Rebecca Inkumsah and Mr Eric Opoku, all of whom are studying Business Administration. It said the students were selected after a series of rigorous interviews conducted by officials of the company. The programme is designed to introduce excellent university students from around the world to the workings of a leading global investment, securities and investment management bank. The Interns will have an opportunity to work in several different departments of the bank. Mr Opoku and Ms Acolatse are final year students, while Ms Inkumsah will graduate in 2012. All three students participated in Ashesi’s mentorship programme ove= r the past year.

The Mentorship Programme pairs Ashesi students with leaders in corporate Ghana, Ashesi alumni, staff and faculty for one-on-one career coaching. Ashesi University is a private non-profit university in Ghana, offerin= g bachelor degree programs in Computer Science, Business Administration and Management Information Systems.
