Ashanti Regional Minister tours constituency

Adwumakaase-kese(Ash), April 2, GNA – Mr Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah, Ashanti Regional Minister has called on the electorate to vote for Nana Akufo Addo-Dankwa, the New Patriotic Party Flagbearer and the Parliamentary Candidates of the party in the December 7 general election this year.

He said though the task ahead was not easy, Ghanaians should give the Party the mandate to continue with the good work of President John Agyekum Kufuor and the NPP government. Mr Owusu-Ansah was addressing the chiefs and people of Ebom/Bomfa, Adwumakaase-kese, Swedru, Aduman and Aduamoa, all in the Kwabre West Constituency at separate durbars as part of a working visit to the area on Tuesday. The Minister, who is also the MP for the constituency explained government’s policies and inspected some on-going projects in the constituency.

He called on those who were due for voting registration to do so when the register is opened.

He said multi- party democracy thrives on political tolerance and it therefore behoved on political activist to refrain from squabbles and violence but rather use diplomacy to woo their opponents to their fold. Answering some questions, the Minister indicated that the constituency had not benefited much for the District Assembly due to the largeness of the district, adding, “now that we have got a new district, Afigya-Kwabre, things will change”. He explained to them, the delays in the construction and tarring of some of the roads and stressed that the Kodie-Aboabogya road contract had been taken away from the contractor and that it was being repackaged for a new contractor.

Nana Mensah Edward Kwabena, Krontihene of Adwumakaase-Kese praised the government for its vision and care for Ghanaians and expressed the hope that people would appreciate and continue to support it. He called on the Minister to prevail on the contractor working on the Fawoade-Adwumakaase-kese-Swedru to Mpobi road to speed up work on the project.

He also asked the contractor to support the community to extend electricity to the new sites. At a durbar at Aduman, Mr Owusu-Ansah advised the students to work hard, respect both the teachers and their parents so that they help them to come out with flying colours.
