Ashanti Regional Minister supports Kumasi Central International School

Kumasi, Aug 25, GNA- Mr Sampson Kwaku Boafo, Ashanti Regional Minister and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Subin, on Tuesday donated 100 bags of cement, valued at five million cedis, for the renovation of the Central International School, in Kumasi. Mr Boafo who said the donation was made possible through his share

of the MP’s District Assemblies’ Common Fund, assured the school authorities that it was his responsibility to contribute towards the development of the academic facility. He stressed the vital role of education in nation building and appealed to the central government for more support for the sector. The Regional Minister praised the school for having produced many scholars who were contributing towards national development.

Mr Godbless Kofi Amankwaah, Proprietor of the school, who received the gifts, thanked the Minister for the kind gesture. He said a dormitory block had been named after the Minister, to show the gratitude of staff and students. Mr Amankwaah, said all the 80 candidates in this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination, passed with distinction.
