Ashanti Regional Minister calls for support

Konongo (Ash), Feb. 24, GNA – Mr Kofi Opoku Manu, Ashanti Regional Minister has called on the people of the region to rally behind him as he took office to spearhead the development of the region.

He said the development of the region required a collaborative effort from all stakeholders, irrespective of one’s political affiliation and that his administration would be all inclusive. Mr Manu said this when he called on the Konongohene, Nana Batafo Acheampong Nti on his way to Kumasi, after being sworn-in as the Ashanti Regional Minister on Saturday.

The Regional Minister, also a native of Konongo, promised to help address the problems facing the district but was quick to add that they should not expect too much from him as he had the entire region to preside over.

He said he would operate an open-door policy and urged all to contribute to ensure an accelerated development of the region. Nana Batafo Acheampong Nti commended the minister for his appointment and the instrumental roles he played in various projects in the township including the Konongo Sports Stadium. He urged the minister to justify his appointment by pursuing programmes to benefit the people and pledged his support for a successful administration.
