Ashanti NDC Youth Organiser loses NDC parliamentary bid

Ejisu, (Ash), Nov 21, GNA – The Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Anthony Kwaku Boahen, has lost his bid for the party’s parliamentary ticket in the Ejisu-Juaben Constituency.

He was defeated at the primary election at Ejisu at the weekend, having polled 216 votes as against 378 by his sole contestant, Madam Vida Addae, a former NDC Chairperson of Hamburg, Germany.

Madam Addae thanked the delegates and pledged to work hard to gain the seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Afrifah Yamoa Ponko, called for hard work to retain the NDC in power in 2012 general election.

The NDC on Saturday held parliamentary primary elections in constituencies that it lost in the 2008 election.
