Kumasi, Aug 9, GNA – The Ashanti Regional branch of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed resentment about media reports that the Finance and Education Ministers are to be dropped in a Cabinet re-shuffle.
The party said it found it difficult to rationalize the basis of such speculation, given the remarkable performance of the two, Dr Kwabena Dufuor, and Mrs Betty Mould Iddrisu.
This was contained in a press statement issued and signed by Mr Akwasi Abayie, the Regional Vice Chairman in charge of Operations, in Kumasi on Tuesday.
It said the regional party was tempted to believe that this was a ploy to create disaffection for them, adding, 93We are confident that this= is bound to fail.”
The statement re-affirmed total confidence in the two ministers fro= m the region.
An Accra-based private newspaper in its publication on Monday made the claim that Dr Dufuor and Mrs Mould-Iddrisu, could be on their way out o= f the Government.
