Ashaiman Muslims to use event to promote sanitary conditions

Ashaiman (GAR), Jan. 10, GNA – The Member of Parliament for Ashaiman, Mr Alfred Kwame Agbesi, on Tuesday called on the Muslim community to comport them selves in all spheres of lives, so that they were not caught up with the law.

In a New Year Message to Muslims in his constituency to mark the Eid-ul-Adha, which was read in all the mosques, he said while celebrating the event with joy, they should be mindful of the environmental filth that has engulfed them and adopt strategies to solve it.

In this direction, he said he has set aside the second Saturday of every month in the year as a sanitation day to undertake clean up activities to clear the filth to promote their good health. He called on all religious leaders of the constituency to use their pulpit to impress on their members to participate in the activities to ensure it sustainability, saying that, arrangements in the form of provision of snacks would be made available. He also intended to open a bank account with seed money of two million cedis to support the clean up campaign.

All the Muslim leaders prayed for the leadership of the nation to be guided by Allah to enable them take good decisions and formulate policies that would see Ghanaians through the years ahead. 10 Jan. 06
