Asawasi NDC satisfied with MP’s performance

Kumasi, Sept 11, GNA – The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Executives of the Asawase Constituency and party members have expressed their satisfaction at the performance of Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency, and pledged their support for him.

Mr J.S. Boarle, the NDC Constituency secretary for Asawase, said even though the MP had been in office for a short period, he had already demonstrated that he was capable of handling the arduous task in terms of developments in the area.

Mr Boarle said this when he presented a report on activities of the constituency at the Asawase NDC delegates’ conference in Kumasi on Saturday.

He mentioned the rehabilitation of the Dogo Moro Football Park, provision of mono and dual desks to basic schools and scholarships to brilliant but needy children as some of the achievements of the MP.

Addressing the conference, Alhaji Mubarak, appealed to constituency executives and polling agents not only to take interest in organization but also cultivate and nurture the attributes of vigilance, especially during elections.

The MP said even though proper organization was vital, it is only when it is backed-up by sustained vigilance that victory could come the way of any party.

He appealed to all NDC members to get involved in campaigning from now onwards in preparation for the 2008 general elections, saying such an assignment should not be left to only the executives.

Mr Emmanuel Nti-Fordjour, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC, advised members of the party to develop affection not for personalities in the party but the constitution and regulations of the NDC.

He said allegiance to personalities instead of the constitution and the party as a family did not augur well for the party and should cease.
