Asawasi NDC hails MP’s nomination

Kumasi, Feb. 2, GNA – The executive of the Asawasi constituency of the National Democratic congress (NDC), has congratulated Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, Member of Parliament (MP) for the area on his nomination as the Minister of Youth and Sports. They expressed the hope that the MP would successfully go through the vetting process by Parliament. This was contained in a congratulatory message signed by Mr Joseph Boarle Salifu, the constituency secretary and issued in Kumasi on Friday.

The message said the nomination of Alhaji Mubarak was a step in the right direction following the MP’s keen interest in the development of sports and the youth in general. The executive cited for instance how the MP single-handedly rehabilitated the Dogo Moro Park at Asawasi to allow for the organisation of sporting activities soon after he was elected as the MP in the Asawasi by-election in 2005. They said expressed the hope that Alhaji Mubarak would bring his youthful exuberance, educational background and keen interest in sports to bear on the accelerated development of sports in the country.
