Asawase circuit Guild of Methodist Church donate to orphanage

Offinso (Ash), June 23, GNA- The Asawase Circuit Guild of the Methodist Church in Kumasi has donated assorted items and cash of 200,000 cedis to the Offinso Children’s Centre.

The items worth about 1.5 million cedis included a bag of rice, three-and-half cartons of evaporated milk, loaves of bread, second-hand clothes and assorted soap.

Making the presentation, Mr John Karikari Asamoah, president of the Guild, said the items provided by the group formed part of the Church’s social responsibility.

Miss Mary Osei, in-charge of the Orphanage, commended the Guild for the donation and called on other organisations to assist the centre. Mr Aaron Nuamah, a past diocesan secretary of the Guild, called for stiffer punishment for women who abandon their children as a deterrent to other women.
