Asawase By-Election: Police Warning

The Police have warned potential troublemakers to desist from any acts that will seek to disrupt Thursday?s bye-election in Asawase in the Ashanti region.
A statement released by the Police administration said it had information that some persons were planning to disrupt the polls.
Director of Public of Public Relations, Chief Supt. Ampah Bennin said some persons were being sent to polling stations in small groups purposely to foment trouble on the day of the election.
He however assured the general public that the police were working with the Ashanti Regional Security Council, REGSEC, to ensure peaceful elections.
Meanwhile the Deputy Inspector General of Police, in charge of Operations, Dr. K.K. Marfo has been detailed to Kumasi to supervise security operations at Asawase.
