Asantehene urges nation to forge ahead in unity

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has called on Ghanaians to overcome division and work with the shared vision of bringing socio-economic progress to the nation.

He said citizens had a responsibility to themselves and future generation to make the country a better place to live.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu said this when he received a delegation of Bassare chiefs in the Ashanti Region to his Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

They were there to convey a message of goodwill as he celebrates 15 years of his enthronement as the 16th Asante King.

Alhaji Moro Mahama Gawu, Bassare chief in Kumasi and leader of the delegation, hailed the Asantehene for his quality leadership, commitment to peace and development.

They presented assorted gifts in support of the anniversary celebration, which would be climaxed with a grand durbar at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on May 11.
