Asantehene urges chiefs to uphold honesty

Kumasi, May 28, GNA – Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene has called on chiefs in Asanteman to make honesty their hallmark to uplift the image of chieftaincy in Asanteman. He said their fore bearers left a legacy of truthfulness, dignity and honesty that made Asanteman very dear to many nations. The Asantehene made the call when addressing an Asanteman Council Meeting in Kumasi.

He pointed out that Asanteman had something worthwhile to offer the world and stressed the need for the chiefs to revive and adhere to its traditional value systems.

On probity and accountability in allocation and sale of stool lands, Otumfuo Osei Tutu called on the chiefs to involve the appropriate authorities mandated in the supervision of land acquisition and allocation to avoid land disputes. He advised them to come up with interventions to address environmental sanitations in their areas of jurisdiction to prevent diseases such as Cholera and Malaria.
