Asantehene receives high marks for promoting education

Juaso (Ash), June 11, GNA – The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asante-Akim South, Mr De graft Fokuo, has praised the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for his invaluable contribution to education promotion.

He said the Asantehene’s passion for education and leadership were most admirable and should serve an inspiration to all others.

The DCE was speaking at a brief ceremony held at Juaso by the Otumfuo Charity Foundation to present cheques and certificates of honour to five employees of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the district.

This was in recognition of the good job they were doing to improve education in deprived communities.

The beneficiaries include four teachers and a non-teaching staff. Mr Fokuo encouraged the award winners to continue to work hard and remain dedicated to duty.

Mr Joseph Amoah, the District Director of Education, said he was confident that other teachers would be motivated to accept posting to remote areas.
