Asante Mampong raises funds for development

Accra, Nov 17, GNA – Nana Agyei Duku, Nkosuohene of Asante Mampong, has called on chiefs, elders, residents and non-residents of the town to contribute towards the implementation of development programmes in the area. He said this would enable the traditional authorities to execute projects to ensure the development of the area.

Nana Duku who made the appeal at a fund-raising durbar, said projects earmarked include improving education, health, water, electricity, and sanitation and creating AIDS awareness.

He asked that to people to wage war against poverty and under-development in the Asante Mampong Traditional Area. Daasebre Osei Bonsu 11, Omanhene of Asante Mampong, advised his people to bury their differences and unite, adding “without unity there cannot be progress and development”

About 55 million cedis was realised at the function with Nana Duku donating 15 million cedis.
