Winners of the 2024/2025 MTN FA CUP, Asante Kotoko, officially presented their 2024/25 MTN FA Cup trophy to the club’s life patron, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in a heartfelt ceremony on Wednesday. The event, held at the Manhyia Palace, was a gesture of gratitude and loyalty to the Asantehene for his unwavering support.
The presentation followed Kotoko’s dramatic 2-1 victory over Golden Kick FC in Sunday’s final at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium. Kwame Opoku was the star of the match, scoring twice, including a decisive late penalty, after Bless Ege had equalized with a stunning free-kick.
Leading the Kotoko delegation were IMC Chairman Nana Apinkrah Akwasi Awuah, Board Chairman Kwesi Appiah, and Technical Director Malik Jabir. Speaking at the ceremony, the delegation expressed their deep appreciation for the Asantehene’s blessings and encouragement throughout the season.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, a revered figure in the Asante Kingdom, congratulated the team on their success and urged them to continue striving for excellence.
Kotoko’s FA Cup triumph not only adds another trophy to their illustrious history but also secures their place in the CAF Confederation Cup next season. The club now looks forward to representing Ghana on the continental stage, aiming to bring further glory to the Ashanti region and the nation as a whole.
