Asante-Akim South assembly holds last meeting

Juaso (Ash), Nov. 29, GNA — The Asante-Akim South District Assembly has held its last meeting for 2006 at Juaso with a call on members to work as a united body in pursuit of accelerated development in the district.

Dr Lord Justice Gyamfi-Fenteng, the District Chief Executive, who made the call, urged the members to regularly communicate the development agenda of the assembly to the people to keep them informed of activities of the assembly.

The DCE expressed delight about the cream of individual professionals with diverse experience in the assembly and entreated them to make available their expertise to ensure speedy development. The meeting was preceded by the swearing into office of the Presiding Member, Mr Eric Aboagye.

New members were taken through some orientation on the work of the Assembly and how to function efficiently.

Both the DCE and the Presiding member took turns to brief members on rules and regulations governing assembly meetings after which a platform was offered for members to ask questions.
