Asamoah Gyan foundation a hoax; Beneficiary Students Angry

THE SPY can exclusively report that the Asamoah Gyan Foundation being trumpeted across the world as a credible foundation has turned out to be a big hoax.

Parents of winners of the Asamoah Gyan Foundation Sports and Music Festival who were scheduled to be sponsored to pursue their dream careers are furious since the foundation has failed to sponsor the students.

This follows the inability of the foundation to sponsor beneficiary students who took part in a sports and music Jamboree organized by the foundation last year.

When contacted, the foundation led by Samuel Anim Addo said originally, students who excelled on the day were expected to be sponsored to the Olympic Games but confirmed reports say no bank account whatsoever even existed for the foundation to use for transactions at the British Embassy.

It would be recalled that Yaro Samuel, Ibrahim Wassilatu and Christabel Afua Yeboah emerged the overall best athletes in the maiden Sports and Music Jamboree organized by the Asamoah Gyan Foundation last year.

The duo were expected to receive a full scholarship and an all-expense paid trip to London for the 2012 Olympics by kind courtesy of African Origins Travel and Sports Tourism but it was in limbo.

Christabel Yeboah was adjudged the best player while Christiana Boayteng emerged the Goal Queen after hitting seven goals in the female soccer event.

Teshie Presec beat the other 19 competitors to place first in the overall team event in the fun-field multi sports competition at the Sports Oval of the University of Ghana, Legon.

The competition is aimed at giving the platform to budding sporting talents in the country for future use.

The event was also used to check the HIV status of willing students and other participators while also offering more education on the deadly disease.

Music icon Castro and ace comedian Funny Face were in attendance to offer quality entertainment during the two-day event which had several sporting officials and coaches on scouting duties.
