Asamoah Boateng tours Mfantseman District

Abeadze Dominase (C/R), Oct. 13, GNA – A Deputy Minister for Information, Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng, has toured four paramountcies in the Mfantseman District to interact with the chiefs and to explain government policies and programmes.

The visits took him to Yamoransa, Anomabo, Abeadze Dominase and Essuehyia.

Mr Boateng announced that the Aboadzie Thermal Plant in the Western Region would be upgraded to off-load the pressure on the Akosombo Hydro-electric Dam.

He said after the upgrading it would be in the position to provide efficient service to the people of the Central and Western Regions. The Deputy Minister explained the National Health Insurance Scheme, which he described as a way of alleviating poverty, to the chiefs and people.

Mr Boateng said education was the panacea to poverty alleviation and urged parents to invest in it.

The Chiefs requests for the extension of electricity, improvement of the water supply system, rehabilitation of roads and provision of schools and toilet facilities.

Mr Boateng also addressed the staff of the Mfantseman District Assembly at Saltpond.

He was accompanied on the tour by Mr Kwesi Ankomah of the Office of the President and Mr Frank Neequaye, the Presiding Member of the Assembly.
