Asamankese traditional C’cil to shutdown drinking spots, game centers

The Asamankese Traditional Council is set to clamp down on drinking spots and game centers which offer services to children under eighteen years.

The move by the traditional council is part of measures to ensure that the youth in the area focus on education and shun deviant behaviors that can affect their future negatively.

Speaking to Starr News’ Eastern regional Correspondent Kojo Ansah , the Chief of Asamankese ,Osabarimah Adu Darko II explained that there is a disturbing phenomenon in the town where drinking spots sell alcohol to children under 18 years with impunity.

He said an emergency meeting between the council and the association of the spot owners has been arranged to enforce the order. He said the Police will be used to enforce the directive.

According to Nana Adu Darko II, some organised crime peddling spots which have been identified in the area will also be shutdown.
