Asamankese roads being reconstructed

Asamankese (E/R), Aug. 19, GNA – The reconstruction and upgrading of roads in the Asamankese central business district, which is estimated to cost 3.5 billion cedis has begun.

The project forms part of the second phase of the Urban IV Project, which is expected to face-lift the West Akyem District Capital, Mr Umar Amoah, District Chief Executive, has said.

He told the general meeting of the Assembly that a three-member committee had been constituted to relocate traders and residents whose structures would be affected by the project.

He said the rehabilitation work at the Asamankese Central Market was about 90 per cent complete while additional work on two storey market stores approved by the project secretariat was also progressing steadily. 19 Aug. 03
