Asamamah SDA Church embarks on projects Akim Asamamah

July 9, GNA- Members of the Akim Asamamah Seventh-Day Adventist(SDA) Church in the East Akim District, have embarked on a number of projects estimated at 150 million cedis under a three-year programme to develop the community. The projects include the construction of a church building, a six-unit classroom block, a mission house, a Day Care Centre and a recreational centre. Speaking to the GNA at Akim Asamamah, Mr John Boafo, Co-ordinator and Project Officer of the Church, said the Church building has reached the roofing level and would be completed by the end of the year. He said the projects were being funded through voluntary contributions of 50,000 cedis per man and 30,000 cedis per woman. Other sources, he said were annual harvests and fund-raising activities with church members offering communal labour, adding that more than 50.1 million cedis had been spent on the church building. In another development, Mr Boafo, told the GNA that the church is organising educational programmes for the youth on HIV/AIDs to create awareness on the dangers of the pandemic. The Senior Elder of the Church, Mr. Ofori Boateng, appealed to all non-resident members to donate in kind or cash to support the worthy cause.
