Asafo branch of Church of Christ celebrate children’s week

Kumasi, June 26, GNA – Evangelist Baah Acheamfour, Head Pastor of the Asafo branch of the Church of Christ in Kumasi, has stressed the need for parents to inculcate in children good moral values to enable them to live decent and disciplined lives. He noted that children as future leaders, needed to nurture in a proper manner to ensure that they grow and become responsible citizens in the future.

Evangelist Acheamfour was delivering a sermon to mark the Church’s Children’s Week celebration in Kumasi on Sunday. The theme for the celebration was, “Responsibilities of Children Towards the Church and the Nation”. He said the objective of the church is to train children as well as adults in the Christian principles to become God-fearing. He asked them to live upright lives worthy of emulation.

Mr Anthony Adjei Twum, Sunday teacher of the church, said the occasion is celebrated to make the children feel that they are part of the society. Other activities organised to mark the week included, poetry recitals, Bible quiz, excursions and Bible quotations. Evangelist Peter Donkor, an associate Pastor of the Church, who presided, appealed to parents and guardians to give proper care and guidance to their children at all times.
