Arrest Obinim’s assault victim for defilement – Alhaji Mohammed Shani

Alhaji Mohammed Shani, a former Ashanti regional Vice Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused the police administration of unprofessional conduct in dealing with issues relating to controversial man of God Bishop Daniel Obinim.

He questioned why the police are failing to arrest the 16-year old Illiasu Zakari who reportedly had sex and impregnated 14-year old Justina Nhyiraba Gyasiwaa, all foster children of the founder of the International God’s Way Church.

“If the police want to be fair in dealing with Obinim, they should arrest the boy for defilement because the girl is under age. They are only interested in pursuing Obinim because he is a celebrity”, he disclosed on the Abusua Nkomo hosted by Luther King Kwame Adinkra.PILOLOO BANNER-new

According to him, the law prescribes sanctions applicable to persons who engage minors in sexual intercourse wondering why the police will overlook that and only pursuing Obinim for physical and verbal assault.

Illiasu Zakari who claims to be 16 years of age has been living with the preacher for the past eight years with his three other siblings.

Zakaria told the host of OBTV that his father had died a long time ago and that Bishop Obinim is the one providing shelter and catering for the entire family.

He admitted on the show that they had sex once and the girl told him she was pregnant on Monday and three days later Bishop Obinim confronted them about the issue. Pregnant Justina Nhyiraba Gyasiwaa on the same show also, claimed she has been living with the preacher for the past four years.
