Armed robbery resurfaces in Upper West – REGSEC

Wa, Jan. 24, GNA – The Upper West Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has directed the police and military detachment in the region to intensify day and night patrols in view of the resurgence of armed robbery in the region.

A press release issued at Wa on Monday and signed by Mr. David Yakubu, Secretary to the REGSEC, hoped intensified day and night patrol by the police and military would check the activities of armed robbers in the region.

The statement recalled that in the early hours of January 14 this year, armed robbers attacked the regional office of the Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) in Wa and made away with valuable items. It appealed to the public to co-operate with the security agencies to check armed robbery in the region.
