Armed Robbery Gang Leader Nabbed In K?si

Kabiru Mohammed, alias ?Soldier?, 23, one of the most wanted armed robbery gang leaders, alleged to be involved in a series of robberies in the Kumasi metropolis, has been arrested by the police.

He was smoked out of his hide-out in Kronum, a suburb in Kumasi last Tuesday afternoon, following a tip-off.

The police started pursuing him in June last year, when some of his boys? were arrested, tried and jailed to various terms of imprisonment in hard labour. Mohammed has been linked to, at least, five major armed robberies in Kumasi.

The deputy Ashanti regional police commander, ACP Kwaku Ayesu Opare-Addo, told the paper that Mohammed?s arrest had ended a regime of one of the most notorious robbery gangs operating in Kumasi.
