Armed Forces investigating shooting of motor rider

Accra, Jan. 15, GNA – The Ghana Armed Forces said on Thursday that it was investigating the alleged shooting by a soldier of Samuel Tetteh, a motor rider, at Ekumfi Dunkwa in the Central Region. A statement signed by Colonel E.W.K. Nibo, Director of Public Relations, said the Armed Forces High Command had been informed about the shooting and the investigations would establish the circumstances leading to the death of the rider and the extent to which the military was involved in the incident.

It said this was in addition to the investigations being conducted by the Police Service.

“The High Command therefore would like to appeal to the media to exercise restraint in their publications and commentaries whilst we await the results of the investigations,” it said.
