Apromase Citizens Completes 20 Million Cedi Clinic

Apromase (Ashanti Region), 9 Oct.,

The Chiefs and people of Apromase in the Ejisu-Juaben District have, through self-help, completed a 20 million-cedi clinic with a two-bedroomed nurses quarters. The clinic has an Out-Patients Department, Consulting room, Labour and Children’s Wards. Miss Rose Oteng, the District Chief Executive for the area, inspected the project as part of a tour of the district to whip up enthusiasm in community self-help. Nana Kwame Ofori, the Regent of the town, told Miss Oteng that the clinic was built through individual voluntary financial contributions and communal labour. He appealed to the District Assembly to help rehabilitate a 4.5- kilometre feeder road linking the town with Achinakrom and Kokoben. Miss Oteng reminded the people of the need for unity and co- operation, saying that there could be no meaningful development in an atmosphere of suspicion, distrust and litigation. She urged the people to live in peace with one another and stay clear of acts that could tear them apart. Miss Oteng who was accompanied by Mr T. Yoofi Andrews, the District Co-ordinating Director, who gave the assurance that communities that take the initiative to improve on the living conditions of the people would be supported by the assembly.
