Apostolic Church to suspend elder over rape

The Apostolic Church in the Eastern region has begun processes to suspend one of its elders for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old girl.

The suspect, Jonathan Okine, Elder of the Christ Apostolic Church at Akwaduuso, a farming community reportedly defiled the victim continuously at three different places including a structure for housing animals.

The class six pupil is now battling for her life at the Engresi Government Hospital.

Starr News’ Eastern regional correspondent Kojo Ansah reports that the leadership of the apostolic church has decided to suspend Okine while they investigate the matter.

Meanwhile, mother of the victim Florence Ayepay has told Starr News that they are yet to report the matter officially to the Police.
