Apostle Gomado urges Christians to live up to their responsibilities

Accra, July 20, GNA – Apostle Godwin Gomado, National Director of Ghana Chapter of International Clergy Association (ICA), has appealed to all and sundry especially Christians to live up to their responsibilities in caring for the needy and vulnerable in society.

“We should endeavour to contribute towards the well-being of the less privileged in society as mandated by God,” he said.

Apostle Gomado made the appeal at a fund-raising organised by the members for the upkeep of inmates of Street Academy, an NGO that caters for street children in Accra.

He commended management of the Academy for their vision and commitment to unearth talents, knowledge and skills of street children who had been neglected by their parents.

Ataa Lartey, the Proprietor of the Academy, said for the past 20 years, management had tried to unearth hidden talents of street children in sports, culture, music and basic education.

He said 42 of them would be enrolled in schools during the 2010/2011 academic year and appealed for assistance from individuals and organizations.

Mr Lartey commended the management of Miracle Rock Church International for assisting in the spiritual needs of the children inmates.
