Koforidua, Sept. 6, GNA – The All Nations University (ANU) in Koforidua on Monday held its first matriculation ceremony, since its founding four years ago.
A total of 739 students, who took the Matriculation Pledge, involved all the four batches that had enrolled in the university between the 2002/3 and 2005/6 academic years.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area, Dr Oti Boateng, asked the students to uphold the Matriculation Pledge seriously, both during and after their studies in the university.
The Omanhene, who is also a Professor Emeritus of the Department of Computer Science of the university, urged them to seek accurate knowledge and be prepared to defend the truth at all times ” even to prove many others wrong.”
He noted that the increasing enrolment of the university each academic year, showed the crucial role the university, located in the New Juaben Municipality, was playing in the provision of access to higher education for the country.
The President of the ANU, Rev. Dr Samuel Donkor, chaired the ceremony.
