Anti-bushfire team arrests bushfire setters

Abesim (B/A) Feb. 12, GNA – Three persons have been arrested by the Sunyani District Assembly Anti-Bushfire Monitoring Team at the Tano basin, near Abesim for setting bushfires.?

Kwabena Adumasa, Alex Djan and Amandu Kareem a Fulani herdsman, whose activities had caused extensive damage to trees being planted in the basin, have been placed in police custody in Sunyani.

In a statement, the Assembly warned that anyone who would violate its byelaws on bushfires would be severely dealt with and appealed to the public to volunteer information on saboteurs.
