Not all the contestants are happy though about the ‘step-down’ syndrome which is threatening to spoil the fun of this important event in the history of the party. One of the formidable contestants, Alhaji Ahmad Osman who is vying for the position of National Vice Chairman The Accra Mail has gathered is under intense pressure to step down for another candidate.

Efforts to get the candidate to confirm the move yielded a blank as Alhaji Osman was not available at his Tesano residence when The Accra Mail called.

Alhaji Osman it has been gathered is historically linked to the Busia-Danquah tradition. His grandfather Alhaji Osman Yakubu was a member of the Legislative Assembly in the Gold Coast in 1951 and was elected as the first Member of Parliament for the Tamale constituency in 1954.
