Annual pastoral conference of IMCGB opens in Kumasi

Kumasi, Aug. 25, GNA – Mr Sampson Kwaku Boafo, Ashanti Regional Minister on Wednesday, called on pastors to uphold the truth at all times and avoid discrimination in the Church. He also urged them to expose quack pastors among them in order to maintain the dignity and respect accorded priesthood.

Mr Boafo was addressing the opening of a six-day pastoral conference of the Ghana Chapter of the International Ministerial Council of Great Britain (IMCGB) at Ohwim in the Kumasi metropolis. Seven hundred delegates were attending the conference, which is under the theme: “Biblical Leadership”. Mr Boafo asked the Church to ensure justice and contribute to the development of the communities within which they operate.

Bishop S.R. Addae, Moderator of IMCGB, Ghana Chapter, called on Ghanaians to ensure that the 2004 Election was conducted freely and fairly to deepen the country’s democracy. Dr I.L. Williams, an International Conference Speaker based in the United States of America, appealed to pastors to be humble, honest and be truthful in all their dealings. He was very happy that freedom of worship has been guaranteed in the country and said it was an important requirement of democracy.
