Anipa to contest Hohoe North seat on NPP ticket

Mr Marlon Anipa, a 45-year-old Ghanaian based in the United Kingdom (UK), on Thursday declared his intention to contest the Hohoe North Constituency Parliamentary seat on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2004 Elections.

Mr Anipa, who said he is an Executive member of the UK and Ireland branch of the party, said he would chart a development path towards tackling the elimination of hunger, disease and poverty among Ghanaians.

Speaking to newsmen at Hohoe, he called on the chiefs and people of the Volta Region to unite and support the NPP government for the development of the region.

“The former government labelled us a ‘world bank’ when it came to elections but compare our roads to places they called ‘rural banks’, we lack basic amenities in our rural communities, I am sure this government will help solve these problems”, Mr Anipa.

Mr Anipa said the number of development projects springing up in the rural communities, since the NPP took over the administration of the country, indicated the government’s its commitment to the welfare of the people.

He called on NPP members to educate the people on government policies in order to win more voter for the party in the 2000 Elections.

He appealed to party executives not to lord it over the supporters but to team up with them to ensure a successful political campaign.
