Angry youth ransack wizard’s room in Northern region

The residence of the alleged wizard said to be behind four deaths in Choggu Manayili in the Sagnerigu District of the Northern Region has been ransacked by some unknown angry youth.

The youth had attempted to lynch the man, Iddi Baba, upon his return to the area last Friday after a month-long exile because of his wizardry.

Officers from the Tamale Metropolitan Police Command amidst warning shots rescued him after the angry youth massed up to his residence to lynch him. His sons in trying to save him, inflicted cutlass and pistol wounds on their cousins Imoro Gundana, Majeed and Abukari.

Tenants in the house had to also move out with their belongings for fear of being attacked. Baba and his children had to also spend the night at the Northern Regional DOVVSU. But on Saturday, some of the youth who are not happy about the return of Baba to the area stormed the residence where they broke locks to his rooms and ransacked the place.

His belongings were scattered all over the place.

The unknown persons also attempted to burn a motorbike, which was parked on his veranda.
