Angry mob attacks Anomabo Police Station

An angry mob has vandalised the Anomabo Police Station in the Central Region.

Radio Ghana’s Central Regional correspondent Kofi Sekyiama Pobi says the angry youth besieged the Anomabo Police Station and have vandalized the whole police station.

“One of the inspectors who was on duty, Mr Daniel Dodoo, got injured in the process so they called for reinforcement where the police commander DCOP Ransford Moses Ninson and some of his officers came to the scene,” he said.

He said the Regional Commander told the news team that on Monday the police had a swoop on some areas believed to be hideouts of wee smokers peddling there.

Meanwhile, ten people have been arrested in connection with the mob attack at the Anomabo Police station.

The Central Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ransford Moses Ninson said the mob attack will not affect the resolve of the Police to flush out wee smokers in the area.

In an interview with Radio Ghana, DCOP Moses Ninson urged the youth in the region to desist from the frequent attacks on the Police.

Calm has since been restored.
