Angry minister fires assembly members for rejecting DCE nominee

The Eastern Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Nkawkaw, Emmanuel Kwakye Darfour has descended heavily on assembly members at Ayensuano for rejecting the President’s DCE nominee, Florence Governor.

The rejections of District Chief Executives have become a national issue as assembly members continue to vote against the president’s nominees. In the Volta Region for example, most of the female nominees have been rejected,

The Minister in an interview with Atinka FM’s Kaakyire Ofori Ayim mentioned that the assembly members in Ayensuano live in mud houses, have poor road networks but failed to confirm the president’s DCE nominee who has pledged to improve their lives.

According to Kwakye Darfour, the assembly members have rejected the good plans the president have for them due to their selfish interests. He added that people in such deprived areas who still reject government nominees do so because they want to live in poverty forever.

“I’m an MP and a regional Minister and I have travelled to other places. If you look at how people in Ayensuano and other places live, you will weep for them . The reality on the ground is that people have made up their minds to reject all government nominees,” he concluded.
