AngloGold Ashanti undertakes malaria control programme in Obuasi

Obuasi, Nov 22, GNA- AngloGold Ashanti, is undertaking a massive malaria control programme in all the 45 communities in the Obuasi Municipality.

The programme involved health education; massive spraying of homes, supply of treated bed nets and the construction and rehabilitation of drains and desilting of all choked gutters.

Mr Joseph K. Boampong, the Municipal Chief Executive, announced this at the fourth ordinary meeting of the Municipal Assembly at Obuasi. He entreated the assembly members to offer their maximum support to ensure the total eradication of malaria in the municipality. Mr Boampong announced that the Mutual Health Insurance Scheme had taken off in the Municipality and asked all members to take active interest in the programme. 22 Nov. 04
