Anglican Bishop condemns false preaching

Kumasi, June 18, GNA- The Right Reverend Daniel Yinkah-Sarfo, Anglican Bishop of Kumasi, has called on the church to stand up against false teachings and religious doctrines that keep women in suppression. He said the church must therefore encourage women to become more assertive and protect their God-given rights and fundamental freedoms. Bishop Yinkah-Sarfo was addressing the opening a two-day leadership training organised for women group leaders of the Church in Kumasi on Thursday.

It was designed to provide executives of women groups within the diocese an opportunity to equip themselves with skills for effective evangelism.

The Bishop advised women to go into theology and share their experiences with others in the society.

They should also call for adequate legislation to give them security and protect them from violent crimes and abuse.

Bishop Yinkah-Sarfo told them to overcome their low self-esteem and lack of self-confidence and assume full control of their lives and be agents of their own development.

About 50 participants drawn from the Women groups within the diocese are attending the workshop.
