Ghanaian defender Andy Yiadom has committed his future to Reading FC by signing a one-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2026.
The Royals captain, who joined the club in 2018, has been a cornerstone of the team, amassing over 200 appearances in Reading colours. Despite enduring a challenging, injury-plagued 2024/25 campaign, Yiadom has made a full recovery and is eager to return to action as pre-season preparations intensify.
Reading FC Chairman Rob Couhig commended Yiadom’s resilience during his rehabilitation. “The last year of rehab was tough, but Andy showed true commitment, supported his teammates, and remained focused. He’s ready to go, and we’re excited to have him leading our push next season,” Couhig said.
First Team Manager Noel Hunt echoed similar sentiments, praising the 31-year-old full-back’s influence on and off the pitch. “Yids is a huge presence for us. Though last season was difficult for him, he bounced back well and looks sharp heading into pre-season,” Hunt remarked.
As the Royals aim to make a strong impression in the upcoming season, Yiadom’s leadership and experience will undoubtedly play a crucial role in their pursuit of success. Fans are excited to see their captain back in action, ready to lead the charge once again.
