Tamale, Feb 1, GNA – The two factions in the Dagbon crisis, the Andanis and the Abudus prayed together peacefully at the Tamale Police Park to mark this year’s Eid-Ul-Adha.

The Chief Imam of the Tamale Central Mosque, Alhaji Abdulai Adam, urged all Muslims to eschew acts that were against the principles of Islam and to live together in peace.

In a speech read on his behalf, the Chief Imam advised Muslims to remain united and show love to one another especially the needy to promote peace to enhance development.

At the Police Regional Headquarters grounds the Leader of the Ahmaddiya Mission in Tamale, Maulvi Abdul Hameed Tahir, urged Muslims to instil discipline in their children, especially the girls to enable them to grow up to become responsible citizens and obey them like Ishmael who obeyed his father and volunteered to be sacrificed to God.

He advised Muslims not to behave like the hen that would not give adequate protection to the chickens and allow the hawk to prey on them, adding that, they would be doing more harm than good to their children, society and Islam if they did not play their roles as parents and guardians.
