An apprentice jailed for stealing two she goats

Sekondi, Dec 6, GNA – A Sekondi District Magistrate’s court on Tuesday sentenced Joseph Botchway, an apprentice, to nine months imprisonment in hard labour for stealing two goats. He pleaded guilty.

The prosecution said on November 30 Miss Christina Mensah, a trader and a livestock breeder resident at Asakae near Takoradi, allowed her goats to graze in a bush near her home.

He said Miss Mensah heard people making noise at a refuse dump nearby and when she got there she saw the convict in the grips of a mob that had arrested him for stealing and slaughtering her two goats. He was handed over to the police.
